Position Summary

APT / Blauberg is a premier manufacturer of generator and distribution switchboards, switchgear, and control panels. We have immediate openings for Electrical Wiring Assemblers and Lead Electrical Wiring Assemblers at our product manufacturing facility in Lafayette, Indiana.

Job Responsibilities

  • Wire control panels and switchboards.
  • Install electrical wiring and various other electrical components.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring, wire cutting and crimping, and wire labeling.
  • Assemble components of electrical distribution equipment according to drawings.
  • Properly use common shop tools.
  • Accurately make measurements in 1/32-inch increments.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other assigned duties as needed.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to perform work that requires close attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform functions related to assembly operations with minimal training.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to comply with applicable quality standards and requirements.
  • Commitment to personal and work-area safety, as well as general housekeeping.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and common fractions.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Prior wiring, assembly, or fabrication experience.
  • Ability to travel if necessary.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and skill development.

Position Details

  • Position Type: Full time, first shift (days).
  • Job Function: Manufacturing, assembly, metal and electrical work, and shop work.
  • Approximate Time Commitment: 40 to 50 hours per week.
  • Typical Travel: Less than 5%.

  • Hourly wage on the higher end of the Greater Lafayette wage range.
