Advanced Power Technologies (APT)
Position Summary:
APT / Blauberg is a premier manufacturer of generator and distribution switchboards, switchgear and control panels and is actively seeking a Metal Fabricator / Assembler for our product manufacturing facility located in Lafayette, Indiana.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Detail oriented person; the work is very intricate
- Perform all functions related to assembly operations with minimal training
- Must be a self-motivated individual and work well in a team environment
- Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Assure compliance with appropriate quality standards/requirements
- Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping
- Basic math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and common fractions)
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Ability to weld or learn to weld
- Computer literacy
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Prior contractor / assembly / or fabrication experience desired
- Ability to travel if necessary
Job Responsibilities may include:
- Weld Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Sheet Metal, and Structural Steel
- Plasma table, press brake, sheer, mig/tig welders
- Proper utilization of all common shop tools
- Assemble many components of electrical distribution equipment per drawings
- Accurately make measurements in 1/32” increments
- Motor/Engine/Generator Alignment
- Metal building construction
- Perform quality and safety inspections on all parts, orders, and equipment
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties as required
Education & Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required
- Must have previous experience working with metal fabrication / assembly / or in the electrical industry
- Must have an established history of stellar work attendance, being punctual, and having reliable transportation to and from work
Additional Information:
- Experience Required:
- 3 years experience is preferred, less will be considered
