Electrical Sales Engineer

Advanced Power Technologies (APT)

Position Purpose:

Currently, we are looking to recruit an Electrical Sales Engineer located at our Lafayette, Indiana facility to help our business continue to grow.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Promote, market, sell, and manage Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Equipment
  • Develop and increase distributor and end-user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs and recommendation of solutions
  • Develop clear and detailed strategies and initiatives to execute a marketing plan to outside companies
  • Consult with management and other engineers to produce quotations and contract proposals that are both profitable and responsive to customer needs
  • Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, circuit breakers, switchgear, Medium Voltage Equipment, generator and motor control, and engines
  • Must be proficient at multi-tasking and organizing activities to meet deadlines
  • Adhere to industry and APT standards and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based applications including but not limited to:
  • Microsoft Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Adobe Reader
  • AutoCAD
  • Various Integrated Development and Debugging Environments (IDDEs)
  • Ability to travel as necessary and handle other duties as required

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or STEM field with an interest in Electrical Equipment and Power Systems, or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required
