Manufacturing – Skilled Labor/Shipping/Delivery Position

Position Summary:

APT is a premier manufacturer of generator and distribution switchboards, switchgear and control panels.  We have immediate job openings for Manufacturing – Skilled Labor/Shipping/Delivery Position at our product manufacturing facility located in Lafayette, Indiana.

• Adequate quantity of tools provided for each group’s individual’s toolbox

Job Responsibilities may include the following:

• Shipping / Outside delivery – 50% of position, Pickup/Trailer, no CDL needed, clean driving record required
• Skilled Labor- Metal fabrication department Proper utilization of all common shop tools
• Accurately make measurements in 1/32” increments
• Perform quality and safety inspections on all parts, orders, and equipment
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary or other assigned duties as required

Required Experience and Skills:

• Driving pickup truck towing flatbed trailer. Clean driving record required.
• Responsible for Truck, Trailer, Product, as well as general housekeeping
• Detail-oriented person; the work requires attention to detail
• Perform all functions related to assembly operations with minimal training
• Must be a self-motivated individual and work well in a team environment
• Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools
• Assure compliance with appropriate quality standards/requirements
• Responsible for personal and area safety as well as general housekeeping
• Basic math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and common fractions)

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Computer literacy

• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Ability to travel if necessary

Education & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required

Compensation:

• Commensurate with Experience & Skills.  Hourly wages on the higher end of the Greater Lafayette wage range
